The forum discussed the role of media professionals in covering elections, best practices in elections coverage, media as a development tool for omani society, law regulations, parliamentary media role and impact.

The forum also aimed at providing a space for discussion of relevant topics for media representatives and women contesting for Shura elections. This was the first initiative of its role in the Sultanate.

Guest speakers included Mohamed Al Hadi Al Hanashi, journalist and producer in Al Arabiya news channel, and Sara Staino, an electoral process global programs officer in the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA).
